BBL™ (also known as Broad Band Light) is the next generation of intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy which is known as the “Gold Standard” treatment for reducing pigmentation and brightening the skin and keeping you looking “forever young”!

This customizable treatment addresses the “browns” (age spots, sun damage, freckles) and “reds” (rosacea and broken capillaries) which combined creates dull and aged skin. With BBL™, you target pigmentation to reveal brighter, younger looking skin – turning back the clock on your skin, literally.

HOW IT WORKS

BBL™ emits broad-spectrum photo thermal energy (short blasts of high-intensity light), which is absorbed by brown pigment (melanin) in our skin and the blood vessels that cause redness.

The BBL™ light energy is delivered to the upper layers and heats the skin. Once the heat is absorbed, pigmented cells are destroyed and broken capillaries in the area are closed off. These little particles of brown pigment slough off in anywhere from 7-14 days. In the next several weeks, the body will absorb the destroyed blood vessels.

The light’s energy and heat also trigger a wound-healing response, generating new cells and boosting new collagen production.

Extensive studies have proven that regular BBL™ treatments, not only produces a clinically youthful appearance but causes the actual DNA expression of skin cells to reverse back to a youthful, healthy state at a molecular level.

After Treatment Care

Wear sunscreen and avoid sun exposure; a light exfoliation may be done on day five with ZO® Exfoliating Polish.

Results

FAQs

What does BBL feel like?: The BBL can be described as a warm snapping sensation. No topical numbing cream is required but is available for sensitive individuals. The BBL technology has advanced cooling features, and it shows!
What can I expect after the treatment?: Immediately after the treatment, you can expect to feel some heat, mild redness, and darkening of brown pigment (like small coffee grounds) which will slough off on its own.
How do I know how many treatments I'll need?: The number required is different for each individual and is dependent on how much pigment you are looking to improve. During the consultation, you will be provided a treatment plan tailored to your specific skin goals.
How long does it take to see results from BBL?: You will notice brighter looking skin 1-2 weeks after treatment. Any brown pigment that arises will slough off during this time.
