How It Works

The CoolSculpting® procedure uses a precisely controlled cooling process known as Cryolipolysis® to freeze unwanted fat deposits almost anywhere on the body. Fat cells are more sensitive to the cold than other surrounding cells so as the fat cells are frozen and destroyed; the skin, nerves and other tissues are left unharmed. Who is an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting®?

Candidates for this procedure should be 30 lbs from their ideal weight and have excess fat that is resistant to the effects of diet and exercise. This procedure is not a weight loss solution however it is a great non-invasive option to target the stubborn pockets of fat in areas such as the back, flanks, abdomen, inner/outer thighs, arms, and below the chin.

Does a CoolSculpting® procedure hurt?

The treatment may feel a little chilly initially and you may experience a pulling or pinching sensation similar to a vacuum suction. The feeling usually subsides within 5-10 minutes once the area becomes numb. Once the area has become numb, you will feel much more comfortable and will be able to simply lay back and relax while we freeze away your fat!

Free WiFi and TVs with Netflix are also available in all our Coolsculpting rooms!

 

 

How much does CoolSculpting® cost?

Depending on the amount of pinch-able fat and the desired treatment areas; the cost for CoolSculpting® starts at $750 per applicator. We offer one-on-one CoolSculpting® consultations to properly assess the areas you wish to address. At Vancouver Laser & Skin Care Centre, we offer CoolSculpting® sessions on a sliding scale which is beneficial for those who are interested in treating multiple areas.

 

How much downtime will I have?

Most of our patients return to work directly after their treatment. Vancouver Laser & Skin Care Centre has the newest and most comfortable technology to minimize your discomfort after the treatment. Some individuals may experience numbness, tenderness to touch, minor swelling, hickeying and redness. Redness will typically resolve within half an hour following treatment.

 

 

When will I see results?

Changes can be seen in as little as 3-4 weeks post treatment. Results are progressive as your body metabolizes out your fat cells. The peak of results peak 8 weeks following treatment and full results can take up to 12-16 weeks.

What is DualSculpting®?

DualSculpting® allows for multiple applicators applied at the same time to more efficiently treat multiple areas of interest, reducing your overall treatment time. Most areas can be DualSculpted and we establish this together in your consultation.

What is the Zimmer ZWave?

The Zimmer ZWave is a machine that transmits high energy radial shockwaves to assist in the post treatment massage and also destroys any fat cells that were on the verge of being destroyed. This bonus treatment will improve fat reduction up to an additional 8% equaling 28-33% volume reduction in each area per treatment.

 

Is there a charge for the consultation?

We do not charge a consultation fee for any body contouring consultation. Our no-obligation consultations are performed by our clinical consultants and CoolSculpting® specialists to ensure that you are appropriately assessed and educated about your treatment options.

Who can not have CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® is an appropriate treatment for most individuals however those who are pregnant, suffer from cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria can not have CoolSculpting®. It is important, during your consultation, to be honest with your consultant about any medical conditions you have to ensure that you are the right candidate for this treatment.
