How It Works

The CoolSculpting® procedure uses a precisely controlled cooling process known as Cryolipolysis® to freeze unwanted fat deposits almost anywhere on the body and specifically the double chin. Fat cells are more sensitive to the cold than other surrounding cells so as the fat cells are frozen and destroyed; the skin, nerves and other tissues are left unharmed. Once the fat cells are eliminated they are gone for good!

Who is an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting®?: Candidates for this procedure should be 10-15 lbs from their ideal weight and have excess fat that is resistant to the effects of diet and exercise. This procedure is not a weight loss solution however it is a great non-invasive option to target the stubborn pockets of fat in areas such as the flanks, abdomen and inner thighs.
Does a CoolSculpting® procedure hurt?: The treatment may feel a little chilly initially and you may experience a pulling or pinching sensation. The feeling usually subsides within 5-10 minutes when the area numbs. After the initial 10 minutes you can lay back and relax while we freeze away your fat!
When will I see results?: Changes may be noticed as soon as 3 weeks post treatment and can take up to 4 – 6 months to see the full results.
How much does CoolSculpting® cost?: Depending on the amount of pinch-able fat and the desired treatment areas; the cost for CoolSculpting® starts at $750 per applicator. We offer one-on-one CoolSculpting® consultations to properly assess the areas you wish to address. How much downtime will I have?: Most of our patients return to work directly after their treatment. Vancouver Laser & Skin Care Centre has the newest and most comfortable technology to minimize your discomfort after the treatment. Some individuals may experience numbness, bruising or redness in the treated area for a few weeks post treatment.
What is DualSculpting®?: DualSculpting® means we can treat two areas at once! We have two CoolSculpting® machines at your service to ensure you reach your end goal as quickly as possible.
What is the Zimmer ZWave?: The Zimmer ZWave is a machine that transmits high energy radial shockwaves to assist in the post treatment massage and also destroys any fat cells that were on the verge of being destroyed. This bonus treatment can improve fat reduction results from approximately 22% – 30%.
Is there a charge for the consultation?: We do not charge a consultation fee for any body contouring consultation. Our no-obligation consultations are performed by our clinical consultants and CoolSculpting® specialists to ensure that you are appropriately assessed and educated about your treatment options.
Who can not have CoolSculpting®?: CoolSculpting® is an appropriate treatment for most individuals however those who are pregnant, suffer from cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria can not have CoolSculpting®.
