How It Works

The EMSculpt® uses HIFEM® (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology to stimulate supramaximal muscle contractions, equivalent to 20,000 sit ups!

This intense contraction causes a deep remodeling of the muscles’ inner structure resulting in an increase in muscle mass with the extra benefit of fat reduction.

Supramaximal contractions are not achievable through a voluntary contraction or normal exercise (even if you are a super athlete!). Seriously, you will be surprised at how intense the contractions are – but don’t worry, it isn’t painful. Why? FAQs

Is an EMSCULPT® treatment painful?: As the HIFEM® energy only stimulates the motor neurons (not the sensory ones) the treatment is not painful. The sensation is similar to an intense workout due to the supramaximal contractions.
When will I see results from my EMSCULPT® treatment?: The treatment protocol is 4 treatments spaced 2 – 3 days apart for optimal results. Clients report that muscle definition, fat reduction and overall toning of the treated area is more evident beginning 4 – 8 weeks after the last treatment.
I have a metal implant in my hip, can I still have the EMSCULPT®?: Unfortunately no. As the energy used is HIFEM® (magnetic energy) metal can not be in or on the body during the treatment. This includes metal plates, implants, metal IUD and also pacemakers. For a full list of contraindications please talk to our clinical consultants during your consultation.
Are there any clinical studies to support EMSCULPT® claims?: Yes. There were seven independent clinical studies completed with 200 participants. All seven studies showed tangible results with EMSCULPT® treatments following the four treatment protocol. The results were measured with a variety of modes including MRI and CT scans.
Can I get these kinds of results with a personal trainer?: The short answer is no. The supramaximal contractions and the pattern with which these contractions occur are not achievable during personal trainer sessions.
Who is the best candidate for this treatment?: The ideal candidate for this treatment is someone who is already physically active and adheres to a healthy lifestyle and diet but is looking to take their fitness to the next level.
